Ad Groups Analysis

Overview

The Ad Groups page lists every ad group across your Google Ads campaigns. Here you can track key metrics, pause or resume groups, and delete obsolete ones.

  • Pick a Date Range
    • Click 1W, 1M, or 3M (top-right) to update the summary cards and table.

Check Key Metrics

  • CTR (Click-Through Rate): high CTR (2% +) means relevance; low CTR (less than 1%) may signal poor targeting or copy.
  • Avg. CPC (Cost-Per-Click): rising CPC erodes budget—watch for spikes above your target.
  • Conv. Rate (Conversion Rate): low (less than 2%) suggests weak landing pages or mismatched keywords.
  • Impressions & Cost: zero impressions → no reach; high spend with no conversions → budget wasted.

Pause Underperformers

  • When to Pause:
    • CTR < 1 % for 7+ days
    • Avg. CPC > your target CPA
    • High spend with 0 conversions
  • Toggle Status off to pause—this stops all ads in the group immediately.

Delete Obsolete Groups

  • When to Delete:
    • No impressions in 30 days
    • Permanently low performance despite optimizations
  • Click the 🗑️ icon under Actions, confirm in the popup to remove.
